MicroGREEN will be a leader in developing advanced plastic products for everyday uses. By creating economically and ecologically viable technologies, we will promote sustainable living.

Five Points of Greenness

1. Source Reduction: High yield process requires less source material to make everyday items (as little as 1/5 as much as traditional plastic.)
2. 100% Recycled Material: Wide range of products can be produced using up to 100% recycled plastic with up to 60% post consumer content.
3. Recycle Again: The plastic can be recycled into the exact same material with today's current system.
4. Benign Process: No harmful or noxious gases are used in processing. Little to no new oil or natural gas is required for the source material.
5. Lower Energy Usage: Less energy is required compared to creating new (virgin) plastic and significantly less than the energy required paper products.

Finally, MicroGREEN will solve the “coffee cup dilemma”

--by manufacturing a disposable cup that outperforms all others at lower manufacturing costs, while reducing environmental impact. Expanded PET plastic keeps your fingers cool and your coffee warm. Using expanded PET plastic reduces plastic use and energy consumption.

By using recycled plastic, energy costs are further reduced while preserving precious oil. By enabling recycling of cups, landfill waste can be reduced.

For example, the plastic found in a common 20-oz soda bottle is enough to make seven 12-oz coffee cups.
